Let's Brunch

I don’t care what anyone says, Brunch is the best meal of the day! It’s a cross between that sweet sensation breakfast has to offer and that savory goodness lunch provides. It truly is the best of both worlds!! Brunch originated in England in the late 1800s, served in a buffet style manner, and became popular in the United States in the 1930s. Today, brunch is becoming more popular and is no longer just used as the meal for special occasions like Mother's Day or Easter Sunday. If I could, I would eat it every day! Check out my choices of some of the best brunches in Pittsburgh.

  • Sweet Peaches

Sweet Peaches is located at 639 E. Warrington Ave. in Allentown. Owner and Chef Bek Hlavach changes the Brunch menu each week, depending on what fresh ingredients she has. No matter what, it's always delicious. One of my favorite items is the French toast with pineapple and pear compote, topped with fresh whipped cream. Brunch is served Sundays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and always includes a few appetizers, an array of main dishes and fresh made juices and...it's BYOB!!! If you want something homemade, without cooking yourself, check this place out. If you have a party of 2 or more people, reservations are recommended. Please call 412-219-3121.

  • Savoy

Don't we all deserve a piece of the "Good Life"? Well, Savoy in the Strip District, wants you to experience it. From 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, each Sunday, choose from an array of appetizers such as Fried Calamari & Shrimp or a simple yet sophisticated Fresh Fruit plate served with Romanoff Sauce. Entrees include a Caesar Salad that can be crowned with Grilled Shrimp, Chicken or Butter Poached Lobster Claw Meat and Fried Green Tomato and Crab Cake Benedict, which is topped with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. That sounds so fancy! If you have little one's they have a kid's menu, so its great for the whole family to enjoy!

  • The Yard

What's brunch without Mimosas and Bloody Mary's?? The Yard, in Shadyside offers "The Weekend Brunch & Bloody Mary Bar" every Saturday and Sunday from 10: 00 am to 4:00 pm and "Bottomless Mimosas & Unlimited Bloody Mary Bar" from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The brunch menu features 6 dishes such as Raisin Bread French Toast served with a Rumchata Syrup and Chicken & Waffles served with Jack Daniel's Bacon Syrup (can you say Breelicious!!!).
