MLK Weekend

My cousin recently moved to Pasadena, Maryland. So..I decided to visit her over the holiday weekend. I knew that I would be in for delicious seafood, but wasn’t sure what else to expect. We visited a seafood spot, Bobby Flay’s Burger joint, a bangin’ Soulfood restaurant and even attended a Drag Queen Brunch!

The first evening, we visited Fifer’s Seafood. I ordered the Shrimp & Scallop Quesadilla along with a Crab Cake and Slaw for dessert. The meal was so-so, nothing spectacular. I tried my cousin’s food as well. The soft shell crab was tasty. It was my first time eating that.

The next morning we drove to D.C to attend a Drag Queen Brunch Buffet. The food was excellent (although the pic doesn’t look pretty). The atmosphere was LIVE and we drank lots of mimosas!!! Next up was Bobby Flay’s Burger Palace. I’m a huge fan of Flay. I watch many of his shows on Food Network. The burgers and milkshakes are phenomenal! The sweet potato fries and onion rings need work. Both fell flat and needed more seasoning.

On my last full day there, we visited Carolina Kitchen. OMG!! One of the best meals I’ve ever had. The smothered pork chop was perfectly seasoned and the “granny’s gravy” set it off! The yams….were delish! I could have ate a few servings and the cornbread was moist and drizzled with honey. Yum! I will definitely visit them again.
